A gorgeous heart-warming festive romance!

I’m so excited to be taking part in this blog tour and giveaway……this is such a fabulous book!

The blurb

One night will change their lives forever…

Georgia Bailey is closing up her little charity shop in Oakbarrow when she gets a mysterious late night call from a stranger, threatening to jump off the town’s bridge.

Something about the man’s voice is faintly familiar but all she can do is stay on the line and, after talking for hours and losing sense of time passing, coax him back from the edge.

The next morning, Georgia walks to work, buys a festive latte from Leo (who she’s had a crush on for months!) at the local coffee shop, and is shocked when she suddenly recognizes the voice from last night…

A heartwarming festive love story that reminds us that even in the darkest of times, hope is always just around the corner!

my review

I absolutely, whole heartedly loved this book……so much!  This really is the ultimate feel good read.  I fell in love with all the characters and read the majority of this in one sitting.  It even had me  reminiscing!

It starts with George taking a call in her charity shop from someone who is threatening to jump off a bridge, but she manages to talk him around.  The next day when she gets her daily coffee, she realises that the caller was Leo….someone she always thought was happy and smiley but now realises is hiding so much worry and pain behind his mask.

She knows she can’t tell him it was her that she spoke to so makes a pact with herself that she will prove to Leo that he would be missed if he wasn’t around.  This is followed by a web of lies that spiral out of control…….but at the same time George is building a friendship with Leo…..will it develop into something else?

One of the things I really loved about this book was the fact that the story is told around the local high street.  Sadly the high street is failing, with hardly any shops left. It had me thinking about the high street in my town and what it used to be like, and how I wish it could be like it used to be instead of just pound shops!  Following along with George and Leo as they try to bring back business and festive spirit to the small town is heartwarming, especially when the community get on board too.

I loved the references to It’s a Wonderful Life…..everyone surely must agree that it’s one of the best Christmas films that has me blubbing every year!

Jaimie delves into issues of mental health, friendship, family, love and hardship – all of which she covers really well.  It’s a Wonderful Night had me feeling happy, sad and worried, and had me laughing and almost crying.  I’ll most definitely be re-reading this again next year!

author bio

Jaimie is a 32-year-old English-sounding Welsh girl with an awkward-to-spell name. She lives in South Wales and enjoys writing, gardening, watching horror movies, and drinking tea, although she’s seriously considering marrying her coffee machine. She loves autumn and winter, and singing songs from musicals despite the fact she’s got the voice of a dying hyena. She hates spiders, hot weather, and cheese & onion crisps. She spends far too much time on Twitter and owns too many pairs of boots.

She will never have time to read all the books she wants to read.

She is the author of chick-lit romantic comedies The Chateau of Happily Ever Afters, The Little Wedding Island, It’s a Wonderful Night, and Kismetology, and she has also written young-adult romantic comedies Afterlife Academy, Not Pretty Enough, and North Pole Reform School.

Check out her website, twitter and facebook!
